Abstract
Introduction: Tuberculosis is a chronic infectious and contagious disease that in according to global burden of disease (DALY) it is in the seventh category and it’s predicted that by 2020 still remains in the same category.The present study was conducted to evaluate the demographic tuberculosis study in the city of Jahrom.
method:In this descriptive - Analytical study during the years 2005-2014 The records of all patients with TB Checked out .Data were analysed via SPSS software Version 22 using descriptive statistics methods and Chi-Square test and t-student at the significant independent level P<.05
Results: Out of 114 TB registered patients 67.5% were male ،69.3% were infected by pulmonary TB and 6.1% were infected by HIV. Also the patients were Afghanian national, 31.6% and 64% of the patients were Urban. The highest prevalence of TB disease (Pulmonary and Extra -pulmonary) were observed in under 40 years of age category(44.7%) . There was no significant differences in types of TB (Pulmonary and Extra-pulmonary) according to Sex, Nationality, Residing place, Age groups and Occupations (P>.05) ,whereas this differences were significant in terms of exposures with TB cases (P<.05) as well as there was no significant differences between the age average of stricken TB(Pulmonary and Extra-pulmonary) patients(P= .652) ,whereas the differences between all TB cases and DOTS implementation results were quite significant(P<.001)
Conclusion: Accordingly with attention to the low age (young age) of the stricken peoples in the present study it seems to achieve the target goals and more success in preventing and fighting the TB disease more attention should consider towards the obstacles of TB treatments and controlling programs implementation, and patients surveillance and training programs for this population groups should be priority and precedency of Jahrom city health centre
