Introduction : Post freze – thaw embryo quality can be assessed by various methods , the most common being in vetro survival after a period of culture . several culture system have been used for this purpose and most of them include somatic cell such as oviduct , granulosa and Buffalo rat liver cells as Co- culture support . The aim of this study was to assess the Vero cell Co- culture system on quality of in vitro produced bovine blastocysts after vitrification.

Materials & Methods :after in vitro maturation and fertilization of Immature bovine oocytes . presumptive zygotes were cultured in SoFand SoF medium for 7 days (39 c , 5% Co) . Then 100 blastorcysts were selected and vitrified ( 40% ethylene glycol , 18% ficol , 0.3 mol sacurose). After tawing blastocysts were divided into two groups . One group was cultured in SOF : and the other group was cultured in SoF + Vero cell medium for 48 h. re-expanded blastocysts were selected, inner cell mass(ICM) from them were recovered by immunosurgery and stained cell with Hoechst .

Results : The mean number of ICM in SoF and SoF + Vero were 12 and 15 respectively . The percentage re-expanded blastocysts in SoFand SoF+ Vero were 42%,54% respectivety . there were significant difference between the number of ICM and percentage re–expanded blastocysts in the two groups.

Conclusion : Vero cell Co – culture system can improve viability of in vitro produced bovine blastosysts after vitrification .

Objective: Leishmaniasis is one of the six important tropical diseases which world health organization recommended study and research aspects of its. This study investigated the status of Antroponotic cutaneous leishmaniasis (ACL) in Larestan.

Methods: This was cross sectional- descriptive study. Information were extracted from the epidemiological survey forms of patient which includes age, sex, the number of sores, location of lesion, place of residence and kind of building and then Analyzed by SPSS 15 software.

Results: From776 patients 327(42.1%) were male and 449 (57.9%) were female. The highest prevalence was in the age group of 0-9 years (43.9%) and the lowest was in 60+, 33 (4.3%).Mean of age and its standard deviation respectively were 18.27, 17.8 with the range of 1-84. 575(74.1%) of the patients were rural and the 201(25.9%) of them were urban. More than 484(62.4%) of the patients had more than one sore. 406(52.3%) were living in newly- built houses and 47.7 were living in old house. The high risk parts of body were the hands. 301(58.4%) of patients had sores on their hands.

Conclusion: This study showed that sex pattern of disease differs with other area and children under 10 years old are most at risk. Also Leishmaniasis was mostly seen in rural areas and prevention efforts must be combined with education for groups at risk.

Background- Hysterectomy is one of the most common surgical procedures in gynecology. With appropriate indications, it can lead to uterine disorders although may result in severe complications. The aim of this study was to evaluate the etiology and indications of hysterectomy and its pathological findings among patients who underwent the procedure.

Methods- Medical recording files of all of the patients (170 patients) who underwent hysterectomy during 2002-2003 in Jahrom were studied. Pathological results were also obtained from laboratory recording files.

Results- Among these patients, 56.5 percent underwent abdominal procedures and 43.5 percent underwent vaginal procedure. The most prevalent indications for hysterectomy were uterine prolapse, and abnormal uterine bleeding respectively. The most frequent pathological findings in the studied patients were adenomyosis and leiomyomas.

Conclusion- A revision in hysterectomy indications and preserving the procedure for reasonable causes seems to be necessary
