		<Abstract>Introduction: Group B Streptococcous (GBS) is a leading cause of neonatal infections such as meningitis and septicemia and plays a significant role in maternal infections including pyelonephritis, chorioamnionitis, and post partum infection. Diagnosis and treatment of these infections can reduce maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality. So the aim of this study is Prevalence of Group B Streptococcus Colonization in The 35 - 37 weeks of Pregnancy referring to Honari clinic in Jahrom, 2014. Materials &amp; Methods: In this study, 403 pregnant women in The 35 - 37 weeks referring to Honari clinic in Jahrom, (after explaining the study, getting informed onsent and demographic informations) rectal and vaginal samples were taken. The samples were placed in transport media, transported to the Laboratory and tested for GBS. Data were analyzed by SPSS software, Fisher tests and Chi square Results: In this study, the prevalence of positive vaginal, rectal and rectovaginal GBS culture in pregnant women were 16.4%, 5.2% and 1.7% respectively. There werer significant correlation found between this positive cultures and maternal age, genital diseases status and pregnancy induced hypertension, but no significant correlation found between this positive cultures and abortion status, diabetes mellitus, Disease after birth mom status, Preterm delivery, Urinary infection status, Location, Nationality, education level, disease after birth in The baby and section. Conclusion:According to the high prevalence (19/9%) GBS colonization in pregnant women in Jahrom should present appropriate solutions for the prevention of invasive infection in mothers and infants infected.</Abstract>
