The Effect of High-Intensity Interval Training on the Level of Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma and PR domain containing 16 Proteins in Adipose Tissue in Overweight Type 2 Diabetic Male Sprague-Dawley Rats with Diabetes

Introduction: PPAR-γ and PRDM16 proteins are key proteins in the regulating of adipose tissue and the conversion of white tissue to brown and beige adipose tissue. Yet, the role of exercise on these two important proteins has not been studied in subcutaneous adipose tissue. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effect of high intensity interval training (HIIT) on the level of PPAR-γ and PRDM16 proteins in adipose tissue in overweight male Sprague-Dawely rats with diabetes.
Materials & methods: In this study, 16 two-month old Sprague-Dawely rats with an average weight of 270±20 were selected and randomly divided into two groups: control (n=8) and HIIT (n=8). The training group exercised according to the training program 4 days a week for 8 weeks while the control group did not have a training program. Independent t-test was used to analyze the data.
Results: There was a Significant increase in the expression of PRDM16 (P = 0.0001) proteins in the training group compared to the control group; but this increase was not significant at PPAR protein levels (p=0.26).
Conclusions: In the face of the alarming challenges of obesity, the idea of finding pathogens is still promising, practical and necessary; therefore, given the results of the present study and the role of exercise training on PPAR-γ, and PRDM16 in fat cells, it is hoped that new insight about the root, differentiation, and retention of adipose tissue can be obtained into brown and beige adipose tissue.
